I am a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and teacher. I have a degree in Jazz studies from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Right now I have the privilege of teaching music privately. I have decided to go back to school to get my teaching certification and am on my way to becoming a certified music teacher. I have been out of school for three years and I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.
I grew up in a very small suburban NJ town. Urban education is something that I readily admit as being unfamiliar to me. This is what I aim to change. I hope to shed any of the wrong preconceived ideas I might posses about urban education and write about the journey on this blog.
